Lidded Bird Cup in Black and White
Lidded Bird Cup in Black and White
This lidded cup was made using flame-working techniques and hand-formed borosilicate glass. The vessel and base feature optic-twisted clear glass, paired with contrasting black-and-white sculptural elements, including linked rings and a stylized bird finial. The form draws from Venetian goblet traditions, but reinterprets them through a modern monochrome aesthetic and modular construction. Each component is flame-sculpted, and the lid and cup are fully separable. This piece explores balance and ornament through Andrew’s repetition of curves, motion, and visual rhythm.
